Tamil Nadu Government extends Lockdown till Jun 28th, tier-based system to allow relaxations

The Tamil Nadu government has extended the lockdown until Jun 28, 2021. The Government has divided State into three categories, retaining existing restrictions in 11 districts in the west & central region. In 23 other districts, more services and establishments are permitted to operate for extended hours. Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram & Chengalpet get additional relaxations along with those extended to the 23 districts.

There is no travel restriction in and around Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram & Chengalpet districts. Public Transport & Metro Rail services are allowed with 50% occupancy. People can travel in autos & taxis without e-Registration.

All State Government offices can function with 100% employees, while Private offices can function with 50% attendance. Industries already permitted to function can now operate with 100% employees, while other industries can resume operations with 33% employees.

Automobile showrooms and service centres can function. Sports related trainings and sports competitions can be held without spectators in these four districts.

Food outlets can function from 6am to 9pm and Tea shops from 6am to 7pm, but only parcel services. e-Commerce services can also function from 6am to 9pm.
